From team building challenges, to March Madness, to Spring Break, it is hard to believe how fast March has come to an end! March was a busy month for the students here at St. Mary's!
We started out March with a guest speaker, Mrs. Lemmens, who came to our class to discuss the importance of dental health, and showed us some really cool things along the way! The students really enjoyed the presentation, and we leaned some alarming information about how much sugar is in the drinks that we commonly have. After this presentation I think it is safe to say we all think twice before grabbing a sugary drink after seeing how much sugar is actually in that can or bottle.

The last couple days before Spring Break can be a challenge to stay focused, so for our Bluejay time we decided to play a little "March Madness Trashket Ball". We split up into two teams and one person from each team took a turn rolling two dice, and then taking that many shots at our trashcan with a crumpled up piece of paper. Once they finished shooting their trashkets, they had to write their percent made as a percent, fraction, and decimal. We did two quarters, and then a final round. The students really enjoyed playing this game! :)
Every Wednesday in 6th grade we have a team meeting, where we play team building games and learn how to work together as a team. In addition to our team meeting challenges, the students had a team building challenge in Phy Ed recently. They had to work together in groups of 3 and 4 to balance themselves on each other to complete the challenge they were given by Mrs. Zellner. The students did an outstanding job at this challenge, and as they also did a fantastic job brainstorming ideas with each other to try to figure out how to make their challenge a reality.
Spring has finally sprung at St. Mary's and we are excited for all of the fun we have planned for the last quarter of school! I hope everyone had a relaxing Spring Break, and we are all ready to go for 4th quarter! :)
