May was another busy and exciting month for the students at St. Mary's!
For the 6th grade class, May started out with a Day of Recollection with Father. The students had the opportunity to lead mass at St. Joseph Church, as well as play games to help strengthen their faith and teamwork skills. To end our day we went to The Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion. While there we had the opportunity to pray the rosary and tour the shrine. The students had a great time during our Day of Recollection, and we would like to give a big thank you to Father Suess for planning a fun day!

This year we were lucky enough to take another trip to Madison with the 3rd-6th grade classes. While in Madison we visited the Veteran Museum and we took a tour of the Capitol Building. The students had a wonderful time in Madison, an did a great job representing St. Mary's!
As a thank you to the 5th and 6th grade classes for their behavior, we joined the classes together for an afternoon of fun and games. We played a live action Tic Tac Toe game using hula hoops and bean bags. The hula hoops were set up at the game board, and the students were broken up into two different teams. Each team received 3 bean bags, one team had green bean bags and the other had red bean bags, and they had to run the bean bags down one at a time to get three in a row. Once the three bean bags were on the game board, the next student in line had to run to the game board and use strategy to move one bean bag to try to get three bags in a row, or block the other team from getting three bags in a row. The students had a great time playing this game!
It's hard to believe that we are in the final stretch of school! It has been a great school year, and I wish the 6th grade the best of luck in middle school next year!
